At Bliss Cares, we are guided by a powerful mission: to eradicate sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in Florida. But how exactly do we aim to accomplish this, and why is it so crucial? Let’s delve into the details.
The Scale of STDs in Florida
Florida faces a significant challenge when it comes to STDs. High rates of HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and other STDs persist across the state. These diseases can lead to serious health complications and affect the quality of life of those infected. At Bliss Cares, we see these statistics as a call to action.
Our Approach to Eradicating STDs
Prevention and Education
Preventing STDs is a key part of our mission. We strive to educate the community about STDs, their risks, and how to protect oneself. This includes promoting safe sex practices, encouraging regular STD testing, and providing educational resources.
Accessible Testing and Treatment
We believe that everyone should have access to STD testing and treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. We offer free or low-cost testing and treatment options, and our financial assistance program makes it possible for individuals to get the care they need.
Collaboration and Advocacy
We collaborate with various entities in the Orlando community, including healthcare providers, law enforcement, and legal aid societies, to reach as many people as possible. We also advocate for policies that promote sexual health and fight against the stigmatization of STDs.
The Impact So Far
In the past two years alone, Bliss Cares has helped over 2,000 patients and provided more than 3.8 million dollars in STD treatment and prevention. For every dollar donated, 98¢ goes towards healthcare costs for underserved individuals.
Join Us in the Fight Against STDs
The mission to eradicate STDs in Florida is ambitious, but we believe it’s achievable with the right strategies and community support. We invite you to join us in this mission. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word about our services, your support can make a difference in the lives of many Floridians.
